No, TEDx is a local, self - organized event that is held under TED's guidelines, while TED is a global conference run by the TED organizations.
The speakers are a diverse group of talented, passionate, young people who come from different backgrounds, talents, and passion.
What is this year's theme?
Our theme is “Nowgorithm” - a blend between the moment and the influence of AI on our daily routines and lives.
Speaker are chosen based of their public speaking skills, past achievements and how strong their passion towards something specific is.

Why is it considered as a big step to be chosen as a TEDx Speaker?
It is a big step because it opens unexpected doors of opportunities for the speaker as though it changes their perspectives to the better and enhances their body language, public speaking skills, level of eye-contact and all aspects regarding being on stage and engaging with the audience.
